NEW REFEREE

Interested in becoming a referee? 

For everyone wishing to referee this summer, the following are instructions on how to register for the upcoming season.

For 2024, the Entry Level Referee Course will consist of two blocks.

  • Step 1 - Block 1 - Canada Soccer Entry Level Referee Course Online Theory Modules
    • Registration and payment will be through Canada Soccer
    • Block 1 cost is $10
    • If you are a parent or guardian registering a youth, please ensure you register with Canada Soccer using the youth’s name as opposed to a parent or guardian’s name
      • If the youth has their own email address, it can be used as opposed to a parent or guardian’s email address
    • Canada Soccer Registration Guide provided in link below
      • Payment is required first to receive access key to register
      • If you have processed payment, but did not receive an access key to register for the Online Theory Modules, please email admin@soccerns.ca
    • Block 1 is a prerequisite for Block 2
    • Block 1 must be completed prior to registration and participation for Block 2
      • Ensure Block 1 Online Theory Modules are completed before Block 2 registration closes

 

  • Step 2 - Block 2 - New Official/Soccer Nova Scotia Entry Level Referee In-person Practical Session
    • Block 2 Registration is not available until Block 1 has been completed
    • Registration and payment will be through Soccer Nova Scotia
    • Block 2 cost is $90
    • Block 2 Registration as a New Official is password protected
      • The password will be provided once Block 1 has been completed
      • Please email your Canada Soccer Certificate of Completion to admin@soccerns.ca
      • If a parent or guardian is registering a youth, the youth’s email address should be used when asked to create a RAMP Assigning account during the registration process
    • Block 2 registration closes for each In-person Practical Session 7 days prior to the date of the session

 

The minimum age to apply for the Entry Level Referee Course is 14 years of age by March 31 of the current year for Block 1 - Canada Soccer Online Theory Modules.

The Block 2 - SNS Entry Level Referee In-Person Practical Sessions are offered annually in the spring for completion of the Entry Level Referee Course.

To be eligible to be assigned to games in 2024, you must register online, make payment, and complete your Entry Level Clinic. 

 

Block 2 - Entry Level Referee Course - for anyone over the age of 14

Location: Sobeys Sport Complex, Community Room & Field - Stellarton, NS

Date: May 4, 2024

Time: 12:00pm - 4:00pm - Classroom portion

           4:30pm -7:30pm - Field portion

 
This is the closest course in our area. Participants must register for this course, no later than Apr 27, 2024

RETURNING REFEREE

Your current 2023 Annual Referee Registration will expire on March 31, 2024.

The 2024 Annual Referee Registration is available for you to renew your referee registration for the upcoming season.

To be eligible for games in 2024, the 2024 Annual Referee Registration and the Returning Referee Refresher Clinic must be completed.

To be added to the List of Active Referees, the following must be completed:

  • Online Registration and Payment
  • Returning Referee Refresher Clinic completed - registration is required in RAMP Registrations under Camp and Clinic Registration

      • The in-person Returning Referee Refresher Clinics are scheduled to start on February 29 and run through May 18
      • There are two Highland Region Refresher Clinics scheduled
        • Saturday, April 20 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm in Truro
        • Saturday, May 4 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am in Stellarton
      • If you are unable to attend the Highland Region Refresher Clinics, any Refresher Clinic may be attended throughout the province
    • The 2024 Annual Returning Referee Registration must be completed before registering for a Returning Referee Refresher Clinic.
    • Late registrations received on or after May 16, 2024 will be subject to a late fee penalty in the amount of $25
    • If you did not receive a confirmation email, your Referee registration has not been processed - check your spam folder in case it may be there.

To be eligible to be assigned to games in 2024, registration, payment and completion of a Returning Referee Refresher Clinic are required.
